My class project is to create a index page for any website of my choosing. Because I am interested in web development, I figured I'd go that route. I have my page almost done, and would love to some comments on the look and feel of it.

Here is the link:

THANKS!

the good, the bad, and the ugly.

1. Validation green!! Congrats!

2. Your site isnt SEO. more meta data.

3. Your logo div can be replaced with a simple tag with all the styles applied to it. I remember reading somewhere that this is a class project. If you minimize the use of unnecessary divs, you'll get a higher grade! for the site logo and heading is a good practice.

4. You along the same lines as above, you dont need

. All styles canbe applied to the
    .

5. after the above changes with the logo and , this should be changed to an Welcome to ELITE

6. As above, you dont need

, just style the UL.

7. Now enough for the html... your header should be a link back to home.

8. For a better grade, research shorthand css. Laughing out loud

9. The design.. Needs margin under the green logo reflection.

10. Hopefully the project doesnt require other working pages, cause none of these links work.

11. Wouldn't be cool if the text W3C of Quality W3C Validated Code for Less Money & Less Time!, linked back to W3C website?

12. You may want to consider adding line-height to all the text. I usually put this in with body {}

13. Those (dont know what they are called) pink bracket thingies in the menu, should those have left and right margins like the rest of the site? Did you plan on them being slammed up next to your container border like that?

Thats all I have. Its a great looking design with alot of whitespace. You're sure to make a good grade.

I'll agree with most of what

I'll agree with most of what Cupid wrote, but that color scheme screams 1995 to me. I suspect your teacher might be less critical if you change it to a sensible black on white, or maybe slightly pastel.
