Could someone check to see what is causing my side bar to break?
My sidebar displays under the last entry in IE6 but appears normally in Firefox. It appears to be an IE problem but there is one exception.

here is the index page
http//www.cranialcavity.net/fullthrottle/wp/

And here is the exception
http//cranialcavity.net/fullthrottle/wp/index.php?p=217#comments

With the exception of the above page IE will display incorrectly. Every other page, the index page, other commented individual pages, category pages, and individual pages with no comments will break.

Attached is the css I have been using.

Sidebar Issue

The problem is most likely yet another broken WP layout it is amazing the number of these going around , one problem is the menu div which is floated and yet has no stated dimensions, floats must have dimensions there will be other problems but I havn't time to look at the moment one solution would be to pick up a working layout from
http://atthe404.com/blog/
Root has produced what appear to be some of the few working layouts for wp (apart from mine Smile ) with one of these as a basic structure you could then transfer the stylings from the current sheet.

Hugo.

P.S If Know one has offered a solution by the time I get back I'll try to have a detailed look.

Sidebar Issue

Hi cranial,
I have a funny feeling this may just be IE playing silly games with Italic text (blockquote em).
I'd start by doing a little testing to see if you can make a post work with a blockquote em, or try
blockquote, em{margin:0; padding:0; }

Hope that helps

try changing your menu code to:

div#menu {
	text-align: left;
	padding: 5px 10px 10px 10px;
	margin:0 0 0 610px;
}

Something in the page is making your menu too wide to float into the required space. Doesn't need to be floated anyway, just set a big enough left margin and you're nearly away.

#wp-calendar {
	width: 135px;
	background: transparent;
}

just bring the width of the calender down 5px and bingo bango!

Thanks for all your help, itwas the change in the calender size that corrected the problem.
