Hello everyone! Laughing out loud
I've read several threads/articles on this, but I can't figure out why my page wont work. I should mention I'm very new to CSS, so I might be doing something completely obvious. Anyway, here's my test page, http://s110139478.onlinehome.us/test/. I'm trying to have the footer div be aligned to the bottom of the body tag, which should be the bottom of the browser window.

Thanks,
jtnw

Position element at bottom of page.

To do that you need to set a position on the div of relative or absolute to be able to move it around the screen; verticle-align is a text alignment rule, but positioning a footer depends on the rest of the page layout you shouldn't be trying to position it before you have a structure for it to fit in.
At this stage I think your best bet would be to learn a little about CSS flow and positioning here are a few links to get you started then you can come back with more specific questions.

Position element at bottom of page.

I have a structure for it to fit in, however I don't want to post the link since it is still in development. The page I posted mimicks the layout and the footer. Thanks for the links, I'll definitely give them a good read.

Position element at bottom of page.

Don't understand how does it mimick the layout, the page only had that single div footer :? and BTW remove the <?xml version> line it does no good to IE forcing it to render in Quirks mode.

Position element at bottom of page.

I mean it mimics how the footer is placed on the page, just a single div. Thanks for the tip.
