Hi this is causing me grief, I can see what is happening but can't fix it. Basically I'm using a Joomla template which is overriding the css for a slideshow module.

How do I regain control?

The site is in development here: http://www.digiflipconcepts.com/6p/services ,

#content blockquote, #content form, label, #content ul, #content ol, #content dl, #content fieldset, #content address {template...superfish
margin:1.8em 0;
}

Above you can see the template css, below is css for the ul but the margin is still being overwritten by the code above

#navi-outer ul {
margin:6px 0;
}

I've tried using 1important but still no luck, any ideas?

Without the full html

Without the full html structure its difficult to give you the most succinct solution. All you need to do is add an extra selector to take care of the override situation. E.g.

#navi-outer ul,
#content #navi-outer ul {
  margin: 6px 0;
}

Now, if your slideshow appears outside the #content div it'll work just fine using the original selector and if it appears inside #content, it'll still work as the new selector has a higher specificity than the template stylesheet rule.

Thanks Chris you are a

:thumbsup:

Thanks Chris you are a legend, it is working fine now. I did try adding an extra selector as you did but I guess I added the wrong one or wrote it wrongly.

Anyway many thanks indeed, I appreciate your help Smile

Similar issue- template overriding module styling

I have a similar issue as per the post here:
http://csscreator.com/node/33083
Whereby a template's css is overriding that of a module.

The slider should appear and funciton as follows:
http://www.joomlajunkie.com/demo/free/superslider/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=58&Itemid=127

This is how it currently appears on my site with the template in question:
http://zpryme.com

The module is published in the fs_header section of the template's frontpage.

Here are links to the template html and css:
http://thevulgarbulgar.com/TEMP/template.css
http://thevulgarbulgar.com/TEMP/template%20html.txt

Any help would really be appreciated! Please let me know if there is any info I can provide to better reveal the issue.
