Okay, I've got an idea, let's go with it folks.
I want to create either a pop-up menu (ex: the Jump To box at the bottom of the page here), or just a list of links that, when clicked, "pop up" a schedule of the team that was clicked instantaneously. Is this possible/feasible? There are only 16 teams, so it shouldn't be too large. Any ideas out there, oh CSS Forum gods?
Tough question, eh?
It sounds feasible.
But there are a few things that are unclear from your post.
How are the schedules stored, are they separate pages or database driven?
What do you mean by popup, separate window or displayed on the same page?
I knew there would be problems with my wording. I suck at that.
I'm not sure how I would do it in a database, exactly, so I'm thinking about putting it on a new page for now. Would a database probably be easier? I have 2 more mySQL databases to play with.
I want them to load on the current page, as well.
By the way, does CSS Creator/Forum have any little banners that I could possibly put on my page, so I can direct users toward this wonderful page? Something with about 180-ish px width.
OPTAdmin... sorry but I am still a little confused on exactly what you want
On an old site of mine I did something similar
http://www.tcsnd.org/athletics/athletics.asp and click either Boys or Girls Basketball...
If you don't want a "popup window" but want to load on the same page you could try something like this...
Thanks! The second one is actually exactly what I'm looking for. I guess I can do it with just a list of teams, and, on mouse click, it will throw the schedule out there instantly, while on the same page. Before I check the script, is it possible to position the code? I'll probably post on here in about 5 minutes and realize that it is, so thanks again!
Glad that it might work for you...not sure what you mean by position the code... but you should be able to put this wherever want...
the reason for using a DB is that it keeps your page code much shorter... if you don't use a DB you'll have to hard code all 16 teams and there schedules into the page which would make for a pretty large page size
That's what I was thinking about using the database. Mind if I just use your code as a reference and work from there?
Feel free to use the code... I used it from someone else LOL
Glad it seems to be coming together.
Here's a link with images you can use to link to this site.
Or you can use this one
I will add it to the link to us page soon.
Thanks, every link helps.
I've added a link to the homepage (http://www.eastohiosports.com). I'm still working on the database to put all the teams in. It's coming along nicely, though!
Just to update everyone...
I've input all the data into the database itself. I've been able to output it all on a PHP file. For now, I'm trying to make it work with my phpBB, so when it goes to schedule.php, you can choose what team you want, and it will load the corresponding schedule. The only problem I've run into is that, with the phpBB, all the display stuff is in a .tpl file, which apparently can't run PHP. I've been asking the people over at phpbb.com for any help with that, and I should figure it out eventually.
Just a little update.
