I have made a game using CSS and XHTML, it is very simple yet shows what can be achieved using CSS and just how powerful it is, the CSS validates but unfortunately the (x)html does not. It works in most browsers except Opera, if anyone has any idea why this is then please post. Any constructive comments, good or bad are welcomed, thanks in advance!
Basically you have to evacuate people from a city before killer sheep take over it, you must take them to the airport as quickly as you can, remember to stick to the path and don't go into the killer sheep infested grass!

Hi isthistakenyet?,
Thats great, with a little work you should be able to get the html to validate.
Start by giving the page a doctype and character encoding then make sure all the ids are unique.
Use classes for items that need to share a style.
Hope that helps

You can see another simple game i have made using css, this time with css image rollovers at http://www.santaisahindu.org/willywonka.html

Taking this a little further I have produced the webs first maze puzzle using just css (and all on one page that validates xhtml1.1). Works in all the latest browsers on Windows XP.

Great work guys. Spend the last 10 mins playing the maps.
One thing though, if you're quick enough with the mouse, and drag the cursor in, you can get the smiley face right next to the star.
If you added a small JS behavior for dragOver , that could compensate., though I guess it'd defeat the whole point of the pure css.
isthistakenyet - Is it possible to make a pop-up fanged sheep when you stray into the grass?

Yes this is possible. I could increase the size of the outer maze border so that it would catch this 'cheat'.

Has a slight problem in Opera that needs investigation.

This has nothing to do with CSS but turn your volume up and try this game
