Ok, I have been troubleshooting and researching, but to conclude with no luck. Can anyone help with the following situation...

HTML Code

<a title="title here">text here</a>

CSS Code

a.title {color:#000000;}
a.title:hover {color:#0000FF;}

Both work in Netscape, but the hover does not work in IE.
I have even attempted another route, but the same issue...

HTML Code

<a id="id" title="title here">text here</a>

CSS Code

a#id {color:#000000;}
a:hover#id {color:#0000FF;}

Any information would greatly be appreciative! Thanks in advance,

The Sound Guy

&lt;a title&quot;&quot;&gt; Not showing hover in IE

In the first case you seem to be missing "class="title"" - in the second you should have a#id:hover, not a:hover#id.

&lt;a title&quot;&quot;&gt; Not showing hover in IE

Ok, sorry for leaving out the small detail, but I have the class assigned in the <td> of the table. Second, it actually doesn't need a class set to it in the provided example. The a.title in the CSS code will assign itself to ALL <a title="title"> references. I only attempted to use the <a id="id" title="title"> as a troubleshooting factor to help direct the CSS to this <a> tag.

Like I said, it works fine in Netscape, but IE does not hover. It usually is the other way around, but not in this case.

title attribute...

IE does not understand "title" as an attribute in the anchor tag... to work around: use span tag around.

Actually, IE does allow the title attribute in an <a> tag. Who told you otherwise?

It seems you have a misunderstanding of applying CSS to markup.

a.title does not target <a title="anything"> it targets <a class="title">
