I've created a page based on ClevaTreva's three column layout, and tweaked it to look exactly as it should in IE6. Most of the layout behaves as I'd expect in FireFox, but the header just flashes and then disappears. The header's background-image never even flashes. Does anyone have any idea what's going on?

I've only been working w/CSS for a couple of weeks now. I'm quite comfortable with formatting rules, but this ex-table layout stuff is an incredible challenge.

Here are the URLs involved:

http://www.boardboss.biz/csstest/css/noodle_real.css
http://www.boardboss.biz/csstest/css/threecolumn.css

I'd be most grateful for any insight anyone can give me into what's going on in FireFox's implementation/interpretation of this layout.

Thanks,
Neal

IE ok, FireFox isn't

Hi nhelman,
I think it because all your styles sheets are imported.
Try just linking to the style sheets and see what happens, or at least link to one.

I thought the fouc only happened in IE
Shock

Hope that helps

Tony:

I'm working w/another design at http://www.boardboss.biz. That one's a little better... at least you can see the header. But it doesn't show the background image in the height I've exablished for the header.

I copied the first two stylesheets into the third, then changed from an @import to a <link>. It still doesn't work. When I change the font size in the browser, the header's contents are displayed, but the background image still isn't visible.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Neal
