Hi everyone, I dont know if this is the correct forum but its the best ive found so ill give it a shot.

this is not necessarily a CSS issue but more a style within the <td>
I have onmouseover effects for my cells to act like a menu.

<td style="border:0px #000000 solid" onmouseover="this.style.backgroundColor='transparent';" onmouseout="this.style.backgroundColor='FFFFFF';" onclick="window.location.href='index.php'">

I have an image backgroup image on the table so i guess i have two choices (i think Tongue hehe) as i see it

1. If possible I would like to set the transparency to be 20% on mouseover that way the background image is still viewable but it appears to mouseover to a new image. (preferred choice)

2. On mouseover the background image for that TD changes... this is not preferred but can be done. but how without adjusting the style sheet. i just want the function in the <td>

Any ideas?

Thanks for your help in advance

Chris

&lt;td&gt; mousover effects - opacity???

While it's still buggy and not totally standards friendly, this is a cool example which kinda does what you're trying to get at.

Hopefully more browsers will start supporting CSS 3 transparency. Smile

Fancy looking colour wheel blending with opacity :

Menu using opacity filer. Works in Firefox, NN7 and IE 6 Smile
