I'm still sorta learning as I go, so please be gentle.

Before:
http://gracebeforemeals.com/v1.0/ is the old site design.

After:
http://gracebeforemeals.com/ is the redesign full css and xhtml.

Wondering what everyone thinks about the new layout and design?

Also any advice in getting flash and the php html to validate would be helpful. This is something I still have to work on at least for now the css is validated.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

The easiest way to get the

The easiest way to get the HTML to validate is to have it checked using the validator and then correct the errors that it shows you.

Many of them have a lot to do with your using the LANGUAGE attribute in your scripts. But I see that you also use the TYPE attribute. So, simply remove LANGUAGE.

Then for your forms, input fields need to be placed inside a block level element like a paragraph or a div. But when you have multiple fields that are related to each other, "fieldset" is appropriate. You will have to make padding and border adjustments though if you use it.

Anyway, I think the new look really improves on the old one. One notable thing is that the new pages don't break on text resize, and that is always a good thing.

The Flash though, I don't get.

Cheers! Smile

Arielle, great feedback,

Arielle, great feedback, it's very helpful. I'll try to implement your suggestions on my next round of revisions. As for the flash, my producer wanted a way to easily update the site and have images that load with text. I set this up using flash as3 and xml to load the dynamic content. Do you happen to know of any way to do this using php or a more user friendly method? Thanks again! Could use some more feedback, anyone else?

I think it looks fine. My only concern would be the Flash too. In IE (because I don't use those browsers for browsing) I get "Alternate HTML content should be placed here. This content requires the Adobe Flash Player.Get Flash" where the Flash is s'posed to be. If you're going to use Flash, best to serve it up with javascript and have it replaced with alternate content if the Flash plugin isn't installed. For the content in the header, you could achieve the same effect with javascript, but like Arielle said, I don't really get why the logos at the bottom of the page need to be in Flash.

Just had a look at the source: rather than a message telling people that they need Flash, I'd replace it with the actual images that should be there.

Sounds good to me. Thanks

Sounds good to me. Thanks I'll add this to my list of updates. As for the flash at the bottom, I'll be adding more logos and partner links, these will be scrolling to the left, it's sort of a placeholder for the animated flash content to come.
