The default1 ( second link) most very definitely, looks much better than the original although I thought you were just about done and dusted with the former Smile
If I may make one suggestion; with the body text it would look much better if you could lighten the text to a dark gray or maybe give it a very light gray(#eee) background it would help the eye focus on the text. I tend to find black on white background very stark and a bit straining after a while, a lot of sites that I rate for design seldom seem to use dead black for text.

thanks Hugo... yeah I am just about done and dusted.... but I got to thinking that the entry page just looked kinda weird...
hadn't thought about the stark black text on white background before... BTW you are the first to mention that... but I think you are right now that I look at it... not too sure about using a light colored background... think I will go for text color of #333
seems to look ok... gives a bit of a warmer feel than #000
thanks gain

#333 looks good much better than a sheet I was modifying which used #666, had to change that straight away! I only suggested the softer background as I like to try and lift the text from the page slightly. One last suggestion and then I promise to stop interfering Smile which is to perhaps put a 1px solid #000 border on the outer div to set the page of .

Hugo.. you are not interferring at all Smile
I welcome all suggestions and comments... by the outer div are you referring to the container div?
Personally I think that looks a little odd Smile
how about #066 or #008080?

Yes I meant the container div, it's probably just a personal preference, I like to frame the main container for impact but yes your colour choices are better than black leave it at #008080 looks ok.
