I'm tring to set up my photo site. I have a working image border in firefox, created with padding and a 1 pixel border. In IE the border is displayed but the padding is gone. I am totally confused now and I thought i'd ask the forum before I go insane.

heres the css:

the page with the photo:

the class i'm using in the img tag is:

.photo {border: 1px solid #999;
padding: 7px;}

If you can help i'd be very happy!

Regards

Image padding - not working in IE, please help!

also try switching your DOC Type to Strict instead of Transitional. When it is set to transitional IE uses its retarded Quirks mode which in 5 breaks the CSS box model adding padding/margin/div sizes backward from the spec...google CSS box model for more about that.

- also the way it is already typed ALL your padding values are already 7px. You do not need to change the values as suggested above.
