Hi!
i´m playing with a layout found at glish.com(http://glish.com/css/3.asp, i modified it that there is only a content-left and a content-center ), but i have a problem with it:
When you turn on the border of one of the content-divs, the right content-layer moves under the content-layer left to it.
so its correct:
_____________
|-------------------|
|......|................|
|......|................|
|......|................|
|___|________|
and after turning on the border...
_____________
|-------------------|
|......|
|......|
|......|
|___|_____
|................|
|................|
|................|
|________|
somebody knows an anwser?
thanks alot,
greets ben
Whats up with the border?
benny,
Please note that I asked the same question in the following forum post: http://www.csscreator.com/css-forum/ftopic4704.html on August 18. I posted this question on another forum and so far have received two answers that I believe are getting to the real source of the problem (without looking at your page it's not possible to say you have the exact problem but the problem description is identical to mine). You can find this post at: http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum83/4379.htm.
I would also suggest you look at the the following link:
http://www.pmob.co.uk/temp/3colfixedtest_4.htm. It has a number of 2 column layouts (bottom left of page). Note there are many other 2 column layouts but this link was one of my favorites because there is a big explanation of how it works (center column of linked page at bottom of text).
Good luck resolving your problem!
Whats up with the border?
hey Goose,
thx 4 ya answer !
would you send me the post from webmasterworld ? because you need to sign up for this site, i´ve neither a creditcard nor 90 bugs for a forum-membership...
this layout http://www.pmob.co.uk/temp/3colcentred_2a.htm
seems to be very interesting since it´s a centered float-layout with borders on and correct representation.
Hope i can fix that error tomorow...
thank ya very much,
greetings,
ben

try http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum83/ first or the CSS forum

Whats up with the border?
hey there!
thank ya for you answers.
@ Goose, yes the link worked. sorry for the late reply.
I think my problem was that i forgot to add the width of the border the the width of the div, and so it wrapped.
so far and thx again,
greets ben
