width: 830px;
position: relative;

}

#content .inner {
margin: 0px 10px 0px 22px;
width: 205px;
font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", Times, serif;
font-size: 12px;
background-color: fff600;
height: 350px;
}

#modernmenu{
padding: 0;
width: 830px;
position: absolute;
margin-top: 190px;
voice-family: "\"}\"";
voice-family: inherit;
left: 0px;
top: -14px;
height: 26px;
}

#modernmenu ul{
font: bold 11px Arial;
margin:0;
margin-left: 285px; /*margin between first menu item and left browser edge*/
padding: 0;
list-style: none;
}

#modernmenu li{
display: inline;
margin: 0 2px 0 0;
padding: 0;
text-transform:uppercase;
}

#modernmenu a{
float: left;
display: block;
color: white;
margin: 0 1px 0 0; /*Margin between each menu item*/
padding: 5px 10px;
text-decoration: none;
letter-spacing: 1px;
background-color: #000099; /*Default menu color*/
border-bottom: 1px solid white;
}

#modernmenu a:hover{
background-color: gray; /*Menu hover bgcolor*/
}

#modernmenu #current a{ /*currently selected tab*/
background-color: #FFF600; /*Brown color theme*/
border-color: #fff600; /*Brown color theme*/

What, exactly should show?

What, exactly should show? It has no content. If you give it a background-color, it is visible.

cheers,

gary

If your web page is as clever as you can make it, it's probably too clever for you to debug or maintain.
