Hi,

I'm working on a site:

http://www.arqsteel.estudio56.com/

which looks ok in IE, but not FF.

The main problem is that the #main div doesn't adjust the height properly according to the inner divs.

There is a background image (right bottom) which should be showing in the #main div, but it doesn't.

Site passed the xHTML + CSS validation. Everyday I learn something new about FF vs IE bugs...

Thanks!

flashbot.

Auto-fixed it!

If anyone had this problem and is looking for the solution,

I just needed to make #main float left.

You need to learn about

You need to learn about enclosing floats. IE is lying to you and Firefox is doing it right, that is according to the standards.

The CSS standard requires that block elements are not supposed to contain their floated children.

That's one way. The other and standard way is to apply "overflow:hidden;" to #main.

You still need to read up on containing floats. This is probably the second or third most commonly asked about problem on this site. You'll certainly find a message in the "How to" forum about it.

Any good reference sites you can recommend? (besides csszengarden and alistapart)

Thanks!
