8 hours later! and still nothing to show

The only tip I'm going to give you is:

Learn how to punctuate your sentences properly.

After you have read my reply, edit your post, and punctuate the problem properly. Then maybe we'll be able to understand and help you.

(No offence at you, I'm just fed up of people who can't write properly).

Hi there and welcome to the forum!

I would suggest that you need to run through your CSS carefully as you have two declarations for #content in there; one floated, one absolute; removing the absolute returns the menu.
For the layout you require may I suggest that you go yo ALA site and do a search on negative margins which will give you a good guide on the sort of layout you require, also bone up on layout flow and the box model

Good luck,
Hugo.

Pineapple,
Having a bad evening are we? do you not think that was a little harsh perhaps? even a little pompous. There are times when I would love to dismiss someone in that fashion but I don't ; people come here seeking help with CSS problems not to have their grammer commented on in such a way, you also do not know what possible circumstances may be involved, it may not be their first language.
If a post annoys you for whatever reason, the best course of action is to ignore it, as I do if I see that someone is clearly not attempting to help themselves or just asking a dumb question .
So leave it out mate.

Btw, your names not Robert King is it?

Before you make your first post it is vital that you READ THE POSTING GUIDELINES!

No, it's Paul, Why?

Sorry I had a go, it's just I got a bit fed up with it. I frequent other forums where the grammar is much worse.

Back on topic, delete the second #content and it should fix it right up.
