I cannot figure out why this test page (www.ctam.co.uk/test.htm) lays out differently in the two browsers. Any ideas how i can get ie to look the same?

A site with articles about standards code and validation and yet no DTD to validate it with Shock Shock
Try putting one in then see what the problems are.

Indeed! Guess i just didn't pay enough attention to those few "error" pages ... that's the danger of copying and pasting. Anyway, the pages validate fine now and the problem appears to have fixed itself.
