snowpiper.com

Tell me your thoughts on the above website please. I realize that there are a few validation errors (mainly dealing with js) but nothing too major. I believe the site works great on everything but ie5 for mac. Could someone check ie7 for me?

Other then that, what do you think of the design? Color? Usability?

The administrative backend is a whole 'nother thing but it looks very similar to the homepage.

Thanks a bunch!

Looks nice, in spite of.

I'm well aware of the forums recommendations but I was trying to get a critique of the page layout and design...more so the graphical elements.

Can you tell me some of your thoughts on improvements?

Graphic wise, it's quite

Graphic wise, it's quite pretty, but a bit dark on my monitor. Not unreadable, just a bit dark.

Your boxes are not very flexible. Try increasing the font size by several sizes and you'll see that the bottom of the content is lost. I prefer to use textual headers instead of graphics - in the case of "Custom Design", "Comprehensive Development" et cetera.

It's disconcerting that clicking on "We'd Love To Hear From You" takes me to another page. Since the small white triangles are on the graphic, I'd expect it to expand and collapse like the other header graphics with the triangles.

Reconsider the Flash piece in the header. Having movement in that area distracted my eyes from reading your content. It's a nice effect, but it might be best placed inside your portfolio as a sample of your Flash skills.

Hi, nice site. you used the

Hi,

nice site. you used the pink to a nice effect! but thinking about it logically , how can there be shadows, to the side facing the moon?(am a photographer!) Nice flash.

Anyways, a couple of things...
1. As Katie said earlier, the contact us takes us to another page, whereas in the other tabs you have used mootools.
2. The site takes a lot of time to load.. all bcz of js??
3. The footer is too big for me.
4. I get some js errors on the portfolio page.
5. The print and stock photography images are taking years to load...

But i still like the site you have made, good use of lightbox, and mootools and ajax, to keep it clean.

AND validate your site.. its always good to have the xhtml & css valid images on the site...

BEst Luck...

Thank you!

I'd like to thank you all for your wonderful critiques! I'll try my best to cut down on loading time and I'll look into possibly replacing the Flash with an image for the homepage. What's lightbox/mootools?

Unfortunately there isn't much I can do for the realism on the building shadows...it'll look kind of strange is the buildings were all black.

As for the page being fluid.....uh, maybe on the next design. For right now we've built our own CMS and portfolio manager from scratch and the whole design of it is very modular like our home page.

The photos enlarge when you

The photos enlarge when you click on the thumbnails, i think that is lightbox. secondly the left menus that slide, is called a accordion effect, a typical of mootools...
