Hey all, what the easiest way to do 1, 2 and 3...

1) http://smoothgallery.jondesign.net/ The pink flyout menu is smaller height than the parent menu.... ? How to achieve this...

2) Different a href links on the 1 page, do they all have to be in a different

or what? If I wanted 1 href to be bold/italic and another to be underlined and anothers font changes - all different... whats the easiest way?

3) Link removed
How is this hover done? Is that a table row or what... how can you have separate table-like cells and hover all of them at once?

Thanks

Re: heights The css for the

Re: heights

The css for the site you referenced has different heights for each of the two levels:

The top level one is:
.navigation li a
{
height: 26px;
}

and the inner levels are:

.navigation li ul li a
{
height: auto;
}

Re: different styles for the top level

You can style each one individually by putting a class or id on each one's li tag or a tag, whichever would best suit your needs. Most often people put a class called active on the li tag for the link to the current page then use a distinct style for it.

Re: hover effect for each row

The site you referenced uses a really bad javascript to get around the fact that IE 6 doesn't support :hover for anything but a tags. You can look at http://www.sidesofmarch.com/index.php/archive/2007/04/23/an-ie6-compatible-solution-for-hover/ for details on doing this type of thing and with better javascript. You could actually do it in CSS only without tables, but it'd be pretty intense. I started to throw one together for you and I realized after an hour it's probably better to just use a table.

Hope that helps,
