Hello this is my first post here.

I am working on some pretty simple CSS layout but I am quite stuck right now.

In Opera this layout works fine, but in IE there is a space between the mainContent and the navagation dividers.

I tried changing the margins to 0 on some of the dividers but I can't get rid of the space in between the banner and the navagation, also the space between the banner and the content part.

What should I do?

Spacing Problem with IE

Your problem lies with the navigation image.

Try adding style="display:block;" to the img tag

<img src="images/navagation-holder.jpg" width="780" height="30" style="display:block;">

Spacing Problem with IE

I posted the updated version. Thanks for the help

I did some research on different display styles and (correct me if I'm wrong) it seems block is for vertically positioned items and inline is for horizontally positition.

I was wondering how could I code this so that I don't need a table for the middle part. Do I have to make both of the layers (that are supposed to be next to each other) display: inline?

There is another space between the floated "rightSideBar" and the "mainContent" I end up having to make the rightSideBar 155 when it should be 160.

Also how do I make it so that the rightSideBar fills up the rest of the vertical space?

thanks.
