Hello all.
I've been working on a website for my student union and I've finally reached a point where I think it's finished.
http://bruger.fredsnet.dk/-dsrweb/
The thought behind this site is to keep it really simple, so that it's easy to update and maintain. I hope to "train" a few of my fellow students so they can edit it using notepad. Hence all the css and html comments.

I'd especially love some feedback on accessibility, as I'm pretty new to that, and it seems particularly important for a site like this. Also, it's my first xhtml site, so I hope I got that part right. The site is all in Danish by the way Wink

I've validated css and xhtml and tested the site in FF2 (winXP), IE6 (winXP) and FF1.5 (Ubuntu).

Any criticism would be very helpful Smile
Nina

From a designer's

I think the colors, styles and background-image work well. I like the paperclips Wink I'd put some margin below the footer so it doesn't feel so restrained by the browser window.

From a designer's perspective I'm thrown off by the "floating" Menu and Links boxes. I'd consider placing them in a sidebar within the #maincontent, perhaps separated by a thin vertical rule or a similar simple design element.

Your h1 and menu boxes break apart after a few text-size increases (FF/OS X). Is there a better, more "unbreakable" way to code these? One of the CSS jocks on here could answer that better than me, heh.

Hope that helps,
B

zzzZZZ

If I where you .. which im obviously not

For the gallery add some basic yet funky pizazz..
get over to Stu Nicholls site and get a real gallery for your site.. the one you have is doing you no justice

here the link
http://www.cssplay.co.uk

You will also get better menus and stuff

Writing menus from scratch may make you feel better but by the time you write an inline menu of your own you could have learned so much more by simply using some one elses stuff and re writing it ..

Get some other cool stuff in there and the site you are making will shine .. just now its a bore

sorry but it really is...

I make websites .. for them... for money .. I LIKE to make websites for me...

b_electro: Thanks for all

b_electro: Thanks for all the suggestions, I'll try them out. I'm not sure what I can do about text-size increase breaking stuff though...
(The paperclip is actually my favorite thing on that site, hehe Wink )

Barry: I think the layout is pretty dull, so any suggestions are more than welcome.
I'll look for a better menu and a gallery at CSSplay. Can you elaborate on what "other cool stuff" could be?
