hey,
well im having a strange problem with a site im creating, the divs dont seem to be working properly (or something) kinda hard to explain, so here is the site.

ive shown the problem with a border around one of the divs, and if you look at the code it seems as though the div style is applying it to the h3 of another div aswell instead of just the single div. and not styling the h3 of the div i want it to.
(that probably made no sense, but right now im kinda confused myself!)
basically i want the border for 'information centres' to go above the h3 of 'information centre's' and not 'accomodation'
what is happening????? is this CSS related or is it something in the HTML??
again, im sure its the most simplest of problems, but i just cant see it!
any help is much appreciated

Its to do with the floats in
Its to do with the floats in your double column. Floats are out of flow. That means block elements don't "see" them, but their inline content does.
In your case, the first in flow element after the floats is the H3, because its a block element and it doesn't see the floats it starts in the same place the floats start. Because the H3 content is inline it appears after the two double column, so the H3 will extend from the top of the previous double column down to its own content. The double columns with accommodation business entries are in floated columns so they won't be seen by #bdaccom, which makes the border only appearing around the (extended) H3.
The solution is to get each of the containers (bdinfo, bdaccomo, bdpub) to start their own display context - that will ensure they surround the floats and to make sure they clear the earlier floats.
e.g.
