Is there anyway I could get a style sheet to make an SWF the background? thanks

I replied in the other one - I don't think it's possible. If it's not an animated swf, use a png instead.

I've actually tried to do the same thing, and i think pineapplehead is right... there is no way I've been able to come up with that will allow for a swf to be put in the background... depending on if you are wanting your site cross-browser compliant or not, you may want to consider giving your swf a lower z-index, and layering the info you want above it. Then you can work out the kinks of transparency, etc with your layout.

Hope that makes sense!

I'm pretty new to this myself, but seems to be workable, although not preferrable.
