I am trying to modify a style sheet such that the comments don't break apart. Seems that there is a
that is possibly messing things up or perhaps the way the browser is interpreting the

  • tag.

    The issue is most prevalent in Firefox, both Mac/Win. IE7 displays fine as well as Mozilla on the Mac. Not sure what it is that FF doesn't like...

    You can see the site here: Blog as well as a direct link to the style sheet.

    This one's got me stumped! Thanks.

    Yeah, the <br clear="all" />

    Yeah, the <br clear="all" /> is the culprit. Get rid of all of them.

    Do this:

    #commentlist li {
      overflow: hidden;
      …
      }

    //edit: IE6 could possibly gag on this fix, but that will be simple enough to fix. I forgot to look for IE6 hasLayout triggers, and am on a Linux box, so ….

    See enclosing float elements for an explanation.

    cheers,

    gary

    If your web page is as clever as you can make it, it's probably too clever for you to debug or maintain.

    Get rid of the <br /> tags

    Get rid of the <br /> tags they are forcing clearing of the sidebar, and are not the way to solve float containment. Add overflow:hidden to the ol li elements holding the comments or whatever parent is holding the floated elements.

    Also 'alt' is not an attribute of the anchor element!

    Thanks!

    Hey, man. Thanks. That's a big help. I thought it might have been something to do w/the

  • tags or that
    tag. Many thanks again!
