Hi.

I'm having problems with my lists. It is a horizontal lists. When viewed, there is too much space in the top and bottom borders.

The code is:

td.links {padding: 5px 10px 0px 10px; margin: 0; width: auto; vertical-align: top;}

div#pipe {border: 1px solid bbd0ff; text-align: right; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
	font-weight: bold; font-size: 10px; color: #000066;}

#pipe ui { display: inline; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: 0px; }

#pipe li {padding: 0px 5px 2px 5px; display: inline; margin: 0px;  list-style: none; }

#pipe  li a:link {color: #000066; text-decoration: none;}
#pipe  li a:visited {color: #000066; text-decoration: none;}
#pipe  li a:hover {color: #98b8fe; text-decoration: none;}
#pipe  li.first {display: inline; margin-left: 0px; border-left-style: none; list-style-type: none;}

The HTML is:

    <td class="links"><div id="pipe">
	    <ul>
          <li><a href="#">Home</a>
          <li>Request for Prayer
          <li>&nbsp;Email Us
          <li>Contact Us</li>
        </ul>
	</div></td>

Any help will be much appreciated.

List space

I am guessing you are seeing the whitespace bug in IE? How does the list look to you in Mozilla/Safari/Firefox? If so, try removing the whitespace eg:

<ul><li><a href="#">Home</a><li>Request for Prayer<li>&nbsp;Email Us<li>Contact Us</li></ul>

see if that works...

List space

The odd part is I used this same code for another website, http://oevas.com and didn't have this problem at all. I mean it is the exact same code.

Thank you for your help. I'll let you know if it works.

List space

OK. I figured it out. I had the wrong thing for the docutype. Once I changed it to: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/transitional.dtd">
it works just like it should.

Thank you for your help.
