this is my code trying all some workaround methods.

basically i want this container to have a white background 800px wide and 100% height. it's fine in Safari, but nothing shows up in IE. what should i do to alleviate the problem?

html, body {
/* \*/
height:100%;
/* Last height declaration hidden from Mac IE 5.x */
margin: 0px;
}
#container {
position: absolute;
width: 800px;
min-height: 100%;
height:100%;
display:table-cell;
left: 10%;
background-color: #FFFFFF;
}
#contain\65 r{
height:auto;
}
/* \*/
* html #container{
height:100%;
}
