I've got a hobby website that I work on that i'd like to have show recent news or upcoming events. I've decided to put it below the first row of navigational links, so it will be fairly visible.

I think that using a php include will make it seperate enough that its easy to add some code into this and other future templates, so that will be handy... but now, how could I present information of this type?

Options I thought of:

http://www.mcli.dist.maricopa.edu/tut/tut17.html (the link is from a do not use blinks or marquees Wink )

A marquee tag scrolling across some simple textual information

News ticker:
I couldn't find any examples. A headline appears for a while, then fades out and reveals the next item.

Or is there any other way i could do this in a neat, usable method?
