There is unexplained padding at the bottom of the page in IE. Both HTML and CSS are 100% valid and I can't find what is causing the padding. Any ideas?

I don't know about the padding. However, the mess in the right hand sidebar in iE6 is due to #rightnav's contents being wider than the 267px width you have specified. Other browsers will overflow, IE will expand the element, pushing the float further in from the right hand edge and forcing it below the left floated main content column - since there is no longer space for both side by side within the main container.

I didn't see this thread and answered this question in your other thread Sad

add font-size: 0; to #ibOverlay to eliminate the space at the bottom.

In addition to what Chris states, you need to add display: inline to #content to fix IE's double margin float bug.
