Hello,
Please please help me with one aspect of a template I will be using for my website loacted here: http://www.kasiaozga.com/index2.html

I am trying to get the backgroung image of the footer div (bground.jpg) to match up with the background of the rest of the body (also bground.jpg), which wraps along the bottom of the screen. The two background images match up seamlessly in every browser but IE windows (it works fine in Safari, firefox, IE mac, etc).

I have tried setting the background of the footer div to transparent, but since the footer div is maintained by using bottom border on the content div that is the height of the footer div, IE interprets border solid transparent as a black border rather than as a transparent block.

Thanks for reading this post and thanks in advance for your help!

Please help- background image matchup in IE

Hi KasiaOz,
Have you tried using a transparent gif as the background image for the footer?
It may not be the cleanest solution but it should work.

Interesting Idea...

I think that the idea of using a transparent gif is a good one, however IE windows seems to ignore the fact that the .gif is there, messing up separation between the div's. I actually ended up using a different page structure, in which windows does not have problems with the footer background overlapping the body background (ex. www.kasiaozga.com/background.html)

Thanks for your help anyway,
Kasia
