if you are using a pc, just

if you are using a pc, just select the file you want to change, press "F2" and rename it with file ending .html.

with a mac, select the file you want to change, and click on it again so that you can change the file ending.

that should work.

Whoah

in all my years of using keyboard shortcuts I never knew that one existed.

Thanks!

you don't even need to click

you don't even need to click the file, if you're in the finder just start typing it's (current) name and it will be selected or tab through the files - no mouse needed.

And you don't need to press F2 either. In Windows just left click on the filename, then left click again.

.. which is back to the same

.. which is back to the same as how macs do it Tongue

By the way, some people might have their extensions hidden, so make sure that isn't so if you don't see it there in view -> options in windows to fix that up.

Don't use Frontpage. Open them up in another program - Notepad will do - and resave them from there.

How to get help
Post a link. If you can't post a link, jsFiddle it.

That's what I want to avoid. I click much too fast, so when I click twice it opens the file.

I don't have time to click, wait for the file to highlight, then click again.

When you are old like me you'll welcome the rest interval. Wink

I haven't got time to

I haven't got time to waste!

Although I have found I very rarely use the mouse, except for online gaming.

All these articles where people complain about computer usage in Hollywood movies, one gripe being the characters never use the mouse?

Most awesome uber-1337 computer techs don't need to, it's often much faster on a keyboard.

It's working for me in both FF and IE7. When you say 'doesn't work' what do you mean?
