Good Morning,
Could anyone tell me or point me in the right direction of how the star/ranking system thing works? Is it a statistic thing (put up so many posts, and get promoted a star), do moderators decide, or perhaps it's a membership thing?
Just curious as I'm nosey,
Thank you,
John
Mostly its numbers of posts.
Mostly its numbers of posts. Guru status is sometimes conferred by the site owner on people who are both knowledgeable and helpful.
50 posts and you'll get next
50 posts and you'll get next star and ' Enthusiast ' which means you like CSS a lot!
500 posts and you'll get third star and 'Leader' which means you have mastered the typesetters art of leading the type
1000 posts your fourth star and 'Elder which means you are older
Can't remember the number of posts for the last one.
Cheers
Thanks!
I understand things better now. Plus by expressing my gratitude with this 'thanks' post, I'm one step closer to being an enthusiast

I'll behave myself now... I'm actually getting in to this helping thing. And I can feel my confidence with CSS growing, and my knowledge expanding. Hurrah.
Mod/Guru status is a
Mod/Guru status is a confusing one though, gurus aren't moderators but moderators usually were gurus at one point

Yeah, when we failed as gurus, we were demoted to mod status.

When we were guru's, we had to shave our heads, didn't we? I'm sure I did. But now I've let what little I have grow back.
Guru Burlster
Then I'm in the presence of greatness... I'm not even an 'enthusiast' yet apparently, haha.
Guru does sound like a preferable title to Moderator. Presumably Moderator is just Guru with responsibilities. Still, not something I'll have to worry about for a loonnggg time.
But I've started to plan my new fantastic amazing CSS site using advice you've all given throughout this forum thus far so no doubt I'll be looking for a little help soon
Thanks in advance,
John
