Hi all,
Maybe stupid, but I can't upload my avatar. I got myself a very nice Casper (for the time being) which you can find here:
I even converted the gif to png:
But I seem not to be able to upload either file. And both files are 3KB.
What I did to upload the avatar is:
1. Click 'My account' (top left of the page)
2. Click the 'Edit' tab
3. Check the 'Delete picture'
4. Click in the 'Upload picture' box and next press the 'Browse' button
5. Finally press the 'Submit' button.
I must be doing something wrong, because I'm not able to change my image.
If I'm not "senior" enough to get my own avatar, I can live with it. But otherwise, anyone know what I did wrong?

You should be able to have
You should be able to have an avatar, checking your account shows no picture set though?
Give it another go ensuring it's within the 30k restriction and a size not exceeding 80×80
There may possibly be problems at the moment neither of us are aware of.
Hugo.
p.s I've removed the double post.
Nope, still no luck
I tried again. But still no luck  I'm probably 'persona non grata' for the database :blushing:
Done!
Not entirely sure why you don't have access to do it yourself (that's a matter for Tony to figure out) but I've done it for you

Oh only in that I found no gateway address this morning, contacted them they told me I had a 'tsnt cease' notice on the line hence no adsl service :?, told me to talk to BT tech dept, they said absolutely no problems, back to eclipse, to tell them to contact BT Wholesale, and happened to mention - in order to help them - that they might like to quickly check LLU status, and lo and behold they had started the LLU process informed BT to sever my service with them but had failed to actually establish the new connection! I have to wait up to 72 hours for this to happen!!! and on a day that I desperately need active connection, dialup really is no fun
Incompetence , it's the plague of our times :curse:
Off topic I know, but as the
Off topic I know, but as the OP has been sorted I shall continue...
Incompetence and a 'couldn't give a sh*t' attitude are rife in our bigger companies nowadays. I've just had an eight month battle with British Gas to get back over £1,000 that they took from my account by DD without asking. They admitted their error, apologised dozens of times but it took a long series of escalated (to manager level) complaints to Energy Watch to finally get them to cough up. As their debt to me was over £700, I even threatened to wind the company up but that got zero response. The whole experience has been mind-numbingly frustrating. People say one thing, think about doing something else for a second, then don't do anything!
...and it's not just British Gas. Network Solutions, the major banks, the Court system, they're all the bloody same! What is happening to the concept of service nowadays?
NTL
And don't even get me started on the cable company here known as NTL... Just hearing those letters next to each other makes me hear 'on hold' music and feel my fists clench. Ironically in the end I succeeded with my issue with them by having closed my account, choosing a different company and talking to them with a 'Nothing To Lose' attitude!
At least you didn't have an
At least you didn't have an account with e7even.
I simply don't understand
I simply don't understand the level of sheer incompetence we face in this country it's truly as though everyone has given up and couldn't give a hang anymore, saddest thing is I have a generic business plan that is 100% guaranteed to succeed with extremely high customer takeup and zero customer migration and is applicable to any number of actual businesses it hinges on a very high capital expenditure on staff employed within the company who are solely employed to effect 110% customer satisfaction to mitigate this cost I plan out all the so**ing useless middle management types that never serve a useful purpose.
What has utterly pissed me off is that the ISP could have established what the problem was if they had just stopped to 'THINK' for a second rather than getting me to contact BT when all parties are aware that adsl as supplied by BT can only be dealt with by the wholesale purchaser i.e the ISP provider along with special code they are issued, even BT tech support dept can't access BT ADSL Wholesale, so my time was actively wasted, not only that but I had to supply the clue as to where to look for an answer as to what was possibly the cause, and still all I got was rather vague mutterings about how long it may take to re-connect my service, naturally they are most sorry but not - clearly - that concerned as IT wasn't THEIR fault
We have become a nation of buck passers, blame shruggers :curse:
Be glad you don't have TV
Be glad you don't have TV service with Virgin . . . first they lost Sky One, then we had to wait in all day for them to fix a fault in our area, turns out they fixed it without telling us and couldn't actually be arsed to spend two minutes on the phone telling us we didn't need to wait in all day.
Yeah that was a coup wasn't
Yeah that was a coup wasn't it, the day they proudly re-branded as Virgin they promptly lost one of the prime channels, did I laugh or what, obviously I don't take their service
Sounds about par for the course to leave you sitting around all day even though they have fixed things, atypical of the attitude abound and the lack of forethought, this is all tied in somewhat to the singular alienation of individuals from their surroundings, I think that used to be known as thoughtlessness or being self-centred *sigh*
