Sounds as though this would be an expected result; you send url to validator it runs url but naturally invokes whatever !true type condition you have designed in so the page is sent back to the header location? but I may well be wrong.
If you just need to check that this page is valid then disable the header location, if you want to set a validate link on the page then you might have problems.
