HAH...all my life I've been writing incorrect HTML/XML. So, I finally decided to get with the standards. Can someone please explain this DOCTYPE and META HEADER crap? I have noooo ideaaaa what it's for. Thanky...
I think basically the doctype describes the document. It tells the browser what language and version its written in and so it knows how to display it. This way it makes cross browser programming a lot easier because all the browsers *should* display the same thing.
Im not too sure about meta tags and what they do, I thought they were similar to the doctype and tells the broswer what encoding to use nd loads of other stuff.
Oh okay that helps. Thank you muchly! Maybe if I don't have too bad of a headache tomorrow, I'll trawl through w3c and see what I can find...
Once again, Daniel has come to my rescue... Thank you, I surf A List Apart a lot, I should know that lol. Tanks again!!
Hey - maybe you could add CSS-Forum to your rather impressive looking page of links on your site? Details are available here.
