Hello Tony:

With a lot of work and some other books I have managed to get the vertical menu system working the way I would like it to. I do have two small problems with editing/using the menu/website.

The first problem is that Frontpage wants to display the menu in it expanded form. Is there a way either with the CSS code or in Frontpage to have the menu show as some sort of palce holder or in its collapsed form?

Second problem is that parts of the menu extend past the bottom of the webpage. The first page is short enough that it does not have a scrollbar. Maybe I can position the 3rd level menu up a bit so that everything shows? I am not too sure how to do that.

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
You can see a sample of the menu at:

Thanks,
Mike,

Tony

working with menu in Frontpage

Hi Mike,
Sorry I have no idea about frontpage hopefully someone else will.
I don't know of a way to stop the menu from extending past the page size, it would be a handy thing to work out so let us know if you come up with anything.

re:working with menu in Frontpage

Hello Tony:

I was reading in my Css books and came across the @import command. By taking the CSS code part (the stuff between the body tags) Frontpage then displays the list in the one column without the CSS style formatting. The only problem with this method is that it make the menu column very long when in reality it is not. But, at least this is better than having the menu displayed over all the other text.

I will continue to search for a better solution to my problem.

Mike,
