I need a little assistance adding an image as the banner for my wordpress theme - trust me, wordpress support is no help here, as I'm a total novice at this and need to be spoken to like im stupid, basically.

I found the

section like wordpress suggested, but I'm not sure how to code the file path of my image and whether I need to remove "header" or add the file path to it, or what.

the file path is...

Can someone help?

Thanks.

This sort of question is

This sort of question is really not a CSS one and should have been covered by the WP support forum as it is particular to how WP works and the paths /structure it uses.

I'm afraid that you haven't supplied sufficient detail to help you regardless.

I don't know how that 'Tiga' theme is laid out.

Likely you need to adjust the header background property to something like:

background: url(images/filename.jpg)

But this is guessing without seeing the files and paths in question.

I suggest that you go back to the WP forum and ask for clarification ,explain what you have understood so far and what you are still stuck on failing that perhaps the author of that 'theme' provides some instruction on it's use.

ok

WP support is terrible for this sort of thing, they actually suggested coming here.

but thanks.

for the heck of it, this is the markup for the header as is... I just want to add my own image to that and am not sure where, and exactly what the coding would be for placing the image url inside the code.

WP support is terrible for this sort of thing,

What sort of thing? supporting their themes and app, sorry it's exactly what a support forum is supposed to do someone there should have given you explicit instruction on how to do this, this theme seems to be popular which means many people will be using it and know what to do.

The problem is that if your going to use themes then you have to put a certain amount of work in to understanding them, and they do require a basic level of knowledge.

The file you have shown doesn't really help you will need to look through your stylesheet file for perhaps a div called #header and see if that contains a background property to call a image.

I have a feeling though that this is not actually provided for in the authors theme as such and this is where customizing and knowing how to customize comes in.

The default Kubrick theme is designed to far more newbie friendly as the image calls and paths are all contained within the head of the document.

Just so ya know, WP would

Just so ya know, WP would not help me with this.

So maybe they SHOULD do this sorta thing, but they don't, or at least they didn't.
