Just wondering. I know many different ways of doing sessions but i'm not sure which is best to use in a business admin area section of the website.

Can anybody share their ideas?

Thanks,

Dan.

Sessions

Hi Fruitcake,
What scripting language are you using?
It depends how secure you want it to be and what the admin are allowed to access.

Sessions

I'm using PHP and so far i've just used session_start() and session_register()

Just wondering if there are better ways to do it or not.

Sessions

Hi Fruitcake,
I saw an article i think it was at Sitepoint in the free sample of The PHP Anthology by Harry Fuecks that explained how to store PHP sessions in MySQL. It's meant to be more secure.

Sessions

In a similar vein I do a lot of session stuff in ASP and I always just use the built in session object. I'm aware that this requires the visitor to have cookies enabled, how big a problem is this?

I see some sites create a sessionID variable and shove it in the querystring and every link, but I've never been bothered to create a site that uses this.

What are your opinions on the two different methods?
