As many of you know I have a hosting business, MultiWebSpace that helps keep CSSCreator and the CSS Forum online.
It has been up and running for over a year now and was in need of a facelift. Cool

Let me know if you notice any issues specially with Mac browsers.
I'm not worried about older browsers such as Netscape 4 or IE 4 as long as the content can be accessed.

Comments about the design or usability would also be appreciated.

Thanks

Nice and clean. Works in FF0.9/WinXP.

And low prices, by the way.

Multi Web Space facelift

Hey Tony. Sorry, i'm no mac user Tongue

The site looks good, nice, clear and simple.
I don't know about the orange hover on the main menu. I just find it a little difficult to adjust, unless it's my monitor.

Other than that, it looks good.

Hi Fruitcake,
Thanks, I see what you mean.
I will discuss other colors to use for hover with my designer.
Designers can be stubborn specially when your married to them Smile

Hi Fruitcake,
The hover color has been changed to purple and it looks much better.
That light blue background color is difficult to find a clear contrasting color for.

No right bar in ie5 or 5.5 (pc) and the boxes don't line up correctly on the right in ie5 (pc).

Few too many boxes not quite lining up for me too. Also not a big fan of the typography for multi web space. Looks a bit wimpy.

Colours are nice though, you've gone for the en-vogue pastel pink look. Which I do like.

How about a different background colour for your rollovers? The colour just doesn't change enough for me. And those borders (round the navlinks) are just too much.

Just my 2 cents.

Multi Web Space facelift

Hi Tony...

Sorry, was late to the show! Looks 100% in Safari. Smile

Not too hot in IE5 Mac though. Nothing major, and perhaps passable. I've attached a screenshot. The only real contention in IE5 Mac is that the links disappear when rolled-over (perhaps this is a bit more serious than passable). Also, the 'Some of our Sites' header background seems slightly misaligned.

Just spotted that the Register Form is a bit messy as well (see second attachment). Don'tcha love IE5 Mac? Evil

Mozilla/Firefox are fine.

PM me if you want to use and abuse me for the Mac compatibility again.

Laughing out loud

Thanks Co2,
The registration form is a concern as is the menu disapearing.
I was going to redo the rego form during the upgrade but left it due to laziness now it looks like I will have to.

The menu looks like its the background-color of the "A" so I have changed that and uploaded the new css file.

I will redo the rego form after breakfast Smile

Hi co2
I have made changes to the form, when you get another chance it would be good to know if the IE5 mac problems were fixed.

Thanks.

Hi Tony

The form is much better. Save for a slightly misaligned opening paragraph at the top (see image).

However, the rollover problem still persists (again, see image).

If I can find time tonight I'll have a play with the code in IE. Mad busy at present! Sad

Multi Web Space facelift

Hi co2,
Well I'm glad the form is better, I'm not worried about the opening paragraph at the moment.
I would love to know what's causing the rollover problem.

Is it to do with hover or visited links?

This is one of the things that are really hard to pick up in www.browsercam.com Sad
I will have to get a mac for testing one day, just waiting for all the money to roll in before I can afford one Cool

Multi Web Space facelift

Hi Tony

Had a look at the code and found the culprit. It's this line:

* html,* html body{height:100%;}

If I remove this line from the code, then the links work fine. IE5 Mac has always had a problem with the html, body rule. Haven't had a chance to try a fix, but if you need to test a solution, I'll be back on my machine tonight. Smile

By the way, a Mac isn't just for testing, it's for life! Tongue

Thanks co2,
I don't know why that was causing the problems it was but have removed it as it isn't needed.
I'm just waiting now for my fairy godmother to give me a nice new mac so I can join the mac for life club Smile

Please let me know if the links are now visible.

I should do a little more work refining the layout to fix a couple of minor problems with Win IE 5 and 5.5 etc.
