Could someone help me with the following CSS layout problem?

Our initial layout is a three column with header and footer. However 200 px down the page we want the middle column, which is the main news column to split into two columns as shown in the site istioploos.gr
Is this possible using css or shall I continue with tables yak yak !!

Thank you again.
