...especially IE5.5 and Safari browsers. This is my first CSS layout so I hope it works. Please let me know if anything breaks.

Hi stephen000,
Nice looking site.
You have a couple of little validation errors that could be fixed up.
That may be part of the problem with Opera.
Your not meant to have h2 and p inside link.

Hope that helps

Nice clean layout,

noticed a couple of minor problems in Firefox; if you resize the browser(smaller) the header background no longer takes up a 100% width leaving the links hanging in white space and the -moz opacity
on the drop down menus allows the text bellow the last link to show through making it hard to read.

(This next paragraph may be nonsense I assumed you were trying to use IE opacity on the menu as I saw the effect on the drop down and opacity styles in the css but I now realise that I can't see them applied in the code)
In Ie6 the opacity appeared not to be working
maybe this bit of code might work
filter:progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(opacity=30);

I seem to remember problems with MS opacity having to be on an image and with an explicit width/height declared (but I may be going mad)

One last point although possibly of less concern; with styles turned of some of the links seemed to disappear behind something -not sure what - and became unclickable.

Site looks good though;

Hugo.

Thank you for your feedback(Drunk and comments.

I will try removing those tags from within the <a href> tag - I didn't realize that would cause that problem.

One other thing I noticed about some links that are floated to the right:

They get all squished on Opera. Anybody know why?

Thanks.

Just a quick point, you've not specified a background colour for your body tag.

I don't have white work areas in windows since I like the screen to be easy on my eyes, and without a colour specified, all the images with white backdrops stand out on my lightbrown background. Smile

I love the boxes on the right with the tabs, is that pure CSS or are you using a script somewhere?

Tony - thank you for your tip about the tags. I got the boxes to be clickable when I removed the H1 and <p> tags.

The tabs are actually something I saw on http://www.johnkerry.com that I used for a client, and incorprated into my own site. It uses just a bit of javascript to switch between the tabs and some show/hide with css. I used tables inside though because the width has to be very exact, which is buggy using DIVs only.

I'll set the BG color white as per your suggestion...

I was hoping someone out there could solve the problem with the links being squished that are floated to the right. Happens only in Opera. Anybody of you gurus out there have any tips?

It's the links with the arrow icons.

Thanks.
