Hello,

I apologize for being such a newbie, but I'm not sure how to achieve what I'd like. I'll just explain exactly what I want.

I want to have a page where people can list textbooks they have to sell as well as textbooks they want. So, I'd want something with three columns: Name, Books for Sale, and Books Wanted. I would like there to be some sort of form so that people can type in their information, submit it, and have it immediately appear in the three columns. I don't want it to be password protected, but it would be nice to have the option to delete entries. Is this possible? If not, how can I achieve something similar to what I want?

If I have not been clear, please let me know and I will try to explain further.

Thanks!

Hi starrysky,

Hi starrysky,

This is a bit outside of the scope of this forum really, what you're asking for is a scripting solution, and where as it would be possible to script something fairly simple to achieve this I and I don't think anyone else would recommend it.

You can't really have a simple solution where you are allowing users to upload information to your webpage via your webhosting server this is full of security implications and you have to be sure that whatever script accepts and displays this info has checked and validated this data and you will really need some form of DB with this and some form of user registration otherwise you will have a lot of nonsense being posted up.

I think if your not sure how to go about this you would be best looking at either already available scripts/cms systems or hiring a PHP developer to script you something.

You might also want to

You might also want to reconsider not making users sign up to add information otherwise the thing will get flooded with spam.

How to get help
Post a link. If you can't post a link, jsFiddle it.

That was the bit where I mentioned user registration and nonsense being posted Smile

Still I have a sneaking feeling that we're talking to ourselves *shrug*
