Just tried what you said
Let's see if it works.

I just wanted my signature to say "Helping others to teach CSS" with "teach CSS" the link to my URL.
Not sure that this is really
Not sure that this is really quite appropriate, especially as it's a members only link, looks as though you're trawling for member count!

Hugo,
Where can I find the guidelines for what can be included in a signature?
Howard
anotherhoward don't worry
anotherhoward don't worry about it, they're no definitive guidelines as such and I have had no feedback on the subject so am disinclined to care further.
My original problem was that:
A: it's would generally be slightly cheeky promoting another help resource
B: That's it's a member only link, you have to sign up for an account.
Please replace your sig link if you so wish, my opinion is just that and it was not an instruction to remove it.
Hugo.
Still curious
Thanks Hugo.
I'm still curious how to place a link in a signature. For example, if this were my signature, "Validate your CSS," what should I do if I want "Validate" to be the link to a validator such as http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/?

Read the Fluffy Manual. The one that's linked below every post form. It says "You can use BBCode tags in the text, URLs will be automatically converted to links"
