It's been about a month already since I started learning CSS, and the normal thing is that smth that should work (and works in FF) is not good enough for IE.

But this time it's the opposite way: IE6 shows exactly what I expect, but FF does not.

I'm completely stuck on this.

It's the Mainbody div which is the problem - it somehow ignores the left blocks when floating.

Can you give me an idea what's wrong?

Try removing the float

Try removing the float property from #mainbody.
