This is part of a phpbb template. It looks awesome in Firefox, not so great in IE6.

My main problem is centering it... right now it is stuck to left side of my browser.

This has always worked for me so i just don't get why it doesn't work today.

.gradiant { width:930px; height:700px; margin-left:auto; margin-right:auto; background-image:url(templates/UNCSkin/images/bggradiant.jpg); background-repeat:repeat-y; }

Heres the outside container. Can you see anything wrong here? If i change.

margin-left:auto;

to

margin-left:30px;

The page does shift 30px across... so i don't have a clue why it won't center.

I am building it on my laptop so can't post a link. If you want a screen shot just say.

I just wanted to make sure

I just wanted to make sure its nothing obvious, i have been staring at this code for a while now and see nothing. Here's a link.

jasonstanley.co.uk/code.txt

That is the source for my forum, the CSS is at the top as i haven't shifted it into a separate file yet.

Heres a screenshot

If you spot any reason as to why the log-in column isn't the full 140px please feel free to mention it. This is only a secondary concern though.

Thought as much you are in

Thought as much you are in quirks mode, incomplete trans DTD. You must have the system identifier (url) with 'trans' or better switch to 'strict'

In Quirks Mode IE does not compute margin:auto;

P.S this is why we ask for all code NOT snippets, especially of just CSS Smile

Yep, that was my first guess. There are a reasons that a proper doctype is demanded in the forum guidelines. This is one of them. Smile
