Making a different website this time:

http://kttm.freehostia.com/sikhsoul/

If you check the validation you can see there are no mistakes but I have a container problem.

In FF the container dont work at all. In IE the container works but the bottom images doesnt appear??

For the container I have put one div inside the other. So one is Container (parent) and other other is content.

Please help.

There's a good article about

There's a good article about using position:absolute in the layout section that may answer to most of your questions :

It does validate according

It does validate according to the w3 validator but it makes no sense because your body tag is not complete.

Goodness, are you using GoLive? It just seems so strange to layout every item on the page with absolute positioning.

I don't know. "Layers" isn't a term that should be used in web design. It is misleading. "Layers" is a concept in Adobe Photoshop.

Your layout falls apart with just a slight text resize.

So is it best to create the website from scracth using divtags? Or isn't fine to just covenrt tables to position: absoloute styled div tags?

How are you spose to position the tags if they are not position: absoloute?

No.

No.

Stop thinking of putting every element of your site into a div and using AP to place it where you want. There are hundreds of structural, semantic tags you should be using. Use them to mark up your content, THEN add divs to group elements and position them.

These articles may help:

Why don't you build a layout

Why don't you build a layout using the CSS Layout Generator and take a look at the html or look at a site that uses semantic markup.

Then throw away Dreamweaver. Wink

lol layout builder? Isn't

lol layout builder? Isn't that just cheating? It may take a while but i'll learn CSS properly. Its all about learning from mistakes. I've only started CSS about 2 weeks ago and have come a long way from trail and error.
I'm rebuilding the layout with the html and css. I would like to know how I correct the below errors:

Error Line 13 column 66: required attribute "ALT" not specified.

..." name="home" width="170" height="79">

Try specifying 'alt' :) the clue is in the error message!

Why would it be cheating? Any technique is learned by studying how someone else has already accomplished it (except for the innovator/inventor).

No you're not an idiot,

No you're not an idiot, we're just facetious swine Smile

But for most tags/elements they are essential attributes and some like img 'alt' are mandatory.

Well i've corrected my problems and my validation seems correct so why do I have problems with browsers again?

Check this website out so far:
