Just finished this site, and got the thumbs up from the prof I'm doing it for. Thought I'd get a site check from you guys first before I upload it to its permanent location.
I tried to stick with simple yet attractive but any advice and criticism that will help me get closer to my goals or simplly point out mistakes would be awesome!

The header.gif looks a little choppy. If you still have the .psd I'd resave it as a .jpg or .png (without transparency).

I also changed the header image to png, but the IE didn't interpret the background color properly. I tried both png-8 and png-24 (in save for web in PS CS2) but to no avail. Right now Home is jpg, Researchers is png and the rest is gif so you can see for yourself.
Do they all seem choppy to you? I can't really tell unless I look close. then again, it just may be the font.

Did you uncheck the "Transparency" box?
It seems to be a problem with the combination of the font and the effect applied to it.
