Hi-
I am having some trouble updating my site to work with IE7 and I was hoping someone could help me. You can see at http://danielorth.com/index.php that I have an UL navigation bar (Home, Portfolio, Resume, etc.) that works in Firefox but does not in IE7. I believe it has to do with the padding but I cannot seem to get it to work right in both. If someone could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you!
-Dan

The CSS is below for the menu:

#navigation ul { list-style: none; margin: 0; padding: 0; border-width: 0px; border-style: none; height: 35px; }

#navigation li {
background: url("/images/top_graybar.jpg") repeat-x;
/* border-left: 1px solid #383838; */
height: 35px;
float: left;
padding: 7px 10px 0px 10px;
/* padding: 7px 10px 10px 10px; */
}

#navigation a {
color: #383838;
font-weight: bold;
padding: 10px 10px 10px 10px;
/* padding: 10px 10px 10px 10px; */
text-decoration: none;
border-width: 0px;
border-style: none;
height: 35px;
font-size: 12px;
}

#navigation a:hover {
color: #000000;
height: 35px;
background: url("/images/top_graybar_green.jpg") repeat-x;
border-width: 0px;
border-style: none;
}

#navigation #currentpage a {
color: #000000;
height: 35px;
background: url("/images/top_graybar.jpg") repeat-x;
border-bottom: 2px solid #383838;
}

It looks like you should be

It looks like you should be making your nav anchors display: block (which would mean you'd need to float them left as well).

Thanks - that did it, I didn't think of that. Is it possible to get the menu text centered vertically in the nav bar as well or does that directly conflict?

Give them a line-height

Give them a line-height equal to the height.
