When I have a scrollbar because of content and I scroll down... the menu on the left does not continue to fill the viewport? Here is the code and link for an example:

When you have to scroll the menu to the left does not continue to fill the viewport. Does anyone know why? And how this be fixed?

Faux Columns?

Personally I would have gone for Faux Columns, but there's also Faux Columns, Faux Columns, and the lesser known Faux Columns technique. I've been hearing a lot of buzz about Faux Columns, as well.
