I'm still trying to learn CSS and was very excited when I learned about the validator. What is a blessing is also a curse. Now I have errors that I don't understand. Can someone explain these errors to me?

This is the first error I get...
Error Line 42 column 13: there is no attribute "class".

it highlights the quote mark in front of the word "dropcap".

I also get this error...
Error Line 45 column 9: element "BR" undefined.

BTW...I'm only using the break symbol because I'm not getting an exrta line break between my paragraphs.

Thanks for any light you can shed on this.
Dave

You are mixing html and

You are mixing html and xhtml. In xhtml there are no "P" or "BR" elements and so of course they can't have attributes.

There are "p" and "br" elements (lower case), but not "P" or "BR".

Switch all your tags to lower case for xhtml.

Thank you soo much. That was exactly what was wrong! I would have never figured that one out.

Thanks again,
