faux columns

try this hope it works for you (works in explorer not quite in firefox waiting for some help)

/* Start Mac IE5 filter \*/
#block_1, #block_2, #block_3
	{
	padding-bottom: 32767px;
	margin-bottom: -32767px;
	}
/* End Mac IE5 filter */
@media all and (min-width: 0px) {
#block_1, *#block_2, #block_3
	{
	padding-bottom: 0;
	margin-bottom: 0;
	}
#block_1:after, #block_2:after, #block_3:after
	{
	content: '[DO NOT LEAVE IT IS NOT REAL]';
	display: block;
	background: inherit;
	padding-top: 32767px;
	margin-bottom: -32767px;
	height: 0;
	}
}
replace block by blockname ie nav, etc.... maybe you can do better than me, lol
peace...

faux columns

faux columns is simplest and generally the best. Check out the article at A List Apart or google on the term.

For more details on equal height columns - moisea's suggestion - read the middle link in my signature, its the second or third page.
